Trip Of A Lifetime

In Less Than 24 Hours

That's right folks, in less than 24 hours we leave. How do we feel? A little anxious, a little queasy and a whole lot excited!!

Adie and I are ready to go. We've packed and cleaned the house. We washed the car. We've crammed all we can into our suitcases. We've even both had a haircut. Adie in the backyard with me wielding the clippers and me with a small personal loan in a salon near the city.

I wasn't actually going to write again until I arrived in Hawaii, but I had to share one last story from home. Up until recently, we have very rarely been visited by huntsmans, and when we have it's only been for a day or two. About 6 weeks ago, Eddie moved in. (Named by Heaven.) Now, for the past six weeks, Eddie the huntsman has been on a walking tour of our house. He started in the dining room, then moved into the small hallway near the laundry, he spent a couple of days in a rather picturesque corner of the main bathroom and then quite some time in the lounge before moving into the kitchen area and then back through the hallway and into the foyer. While we were surprised that he had not made it into any of the bedrooms, we just assumed that he was respecting our privacy, much like we were respecting his desire to walk through and arachnophobe's house.

Anyway, tonight... our last night here... Eddie decided to boldly go where no spider has gone before (and lived to tell). Our bedroom! And not just near the door, or in the wardrobe. Right next to MY side of the bed! How do I find out? Adie comes into the study to say "Now, don't freak out but..." Grrrr.

Needless to say Eddie is no longer in the bedroom. He was gently placed back in the loungeroom. (Sorry Heaven, it's cold outside and Eddie is like a pet these days!) Here's hoping he left the map to our bedroom behind.

Errgh. I'm glad it's Heaven who has to deal with it and not us.

Anyway, you're just about to depart as I write this (well, kind of), and Wifey & I just wanted to leave a message of 'Yay!' and 'Woo!' here on your blog. :)

I know we don't have to tell you to enjoy yourselves (because you're going to have the absolute time of your lives), but hey - we're going to anyway: Enjoy yourselves!

We will miss you both very much, but take comfort in the knowledge that you're having an ace Life Experience and will return to us in a year (that's the plan at the moment, anyway - we'll see how things pan out in time).

    All the very best!

    BEVIS & Wifey.

  • Eddie will always be welcome in this house so long as he keeps away from my beer and tv...and me.

By now Adie and Noshie, you'll be readying to depart from Sydney. We hope this trip is everything the two of you have hoped for. Rest assured Puschka is in good hands (which is good 'cause she's flirting already).

    All the best,

    Heaven

P.S. What's the name of the best plasterer around?

    (Just kidding)

  • Rob Davies & Sons, Plasterers. They're in Belgrave.

Because I know you're not kidding.
